A Colorful Christmas Celebration of MWI

It is everyone’s favorite time of the year! Megaworld International celebrated its Christmas party last December 3, 2019 inside Shery Ballroom of Twin Lakes Hotel Tagaytay. This was the first time our core group members from different parts of the world joined the grand celebration.

EXCEED is the new battlecry of Megaworld International for the year 2020, as it was emphasized during the opening message of our SVP Ms. Maria Victoria M. Acosta. She got the inspiration from the V-formation of the birds as they fly - which adds greater flying range than being alone. Two important lessons are shared from this note. First, cooperation and teamwork are essential to exceed. No matter what or how minimal each role is, people need to work as one to get the job done. Second, unity and encouragement only bring the team faster to its goals. Accomplishing the work would not be difficult without lifting each other up.

Through the various games and activities of the program, the company showcased the importance of the values aforementioned. Right after her speech, the logo of EXCEED was revealed to the crowd and the party has officially begun!

First was the caroling competition. Megaworld International was divided into five groups with 20-22 persons each. They were all very talented and creative with their pieces. One had a solo singing performance backed up by his team of dancers, one started with a solemn Silent Night which transitioned to a jolly tune, while another used spoon. Group 5 stood out among the rest as they ended up doing a mashup of two Christmas songs. They brought home bottles of Emperador products and stood proud on stage while they were recognized the best carollers that night.

In between the program, there were lots of raffle prizes given to the employees and networks - such as beverages and hotel accommodations. Everyone received a gift from the territory heads and they even prepared a special number for all the attendees. Further, as an ongoing tradition, newly hired employees showed their talent through a nice flash mob performance.

The Christmas fun is non-stop as random players were chosen to compete for the classic game Minute to Win It. The last round was a crowd favorite. Called “Jingle in the Trunk”, boxes filled with ping pong balls are wrapped around the players’ behind and the first one to “shake it all away” wins.

The room was filled with joy and laughter as the program progresses. The Training and Business Development Group gave their Bakya Awards for 2019 to recognize networks with outstanding personalities. Some of the awards were the Maria Clara Award, Postura Award, and Mr. Clean Award. Further, the Bakya Lifetime Award was given to Ms. Angelita Contreras, the territory head of North America 1. Her service and dedication to the company is beyond commendable which was why she deserved an actual pair of bakya as trophy!

The highlight of the night would be the commitment exercises of each territory. Billions of sales goals for the year 2019 have been revealed through Christmas presents prepared by the Marketing and Research Team. Overall, Megaworld International is expected to reach Php30B sale this coming 2020. A toast by the group heads and territory heads was made as they are committed to fulfilling this goal.

This toast and celebration makes one thing certain - We will all EXCEED in 2020!
