Unrelenting Growth

Alliance Global Incorporated (AGI) held their stockholders meeting on the 20th of June 2019 at the Grand Ballroom of Eastwood Richmonde Hotel.

The Chairman Dr. Andrew L Tan started with the statement:

“The year 2018 was another period of strong performance for AGI. Our subsidiaries broke barriers, set the newest trends, and surpassed expectations as we continue to disrupt the market and outperform the competition.”

AGI recorded an unprecedented level of consolidated revenues of 156. 8 Billion, and Net Income of 23.7 Billion for the year which sets the company on a business highpoint. The growth of AGI’s line of businesses were discussed to satisfy the given data.

Megaworld Corporation

Megaworld Corporation, the leader in the Philippine real estate industry, has 4,688 hectares of developable land bank. With 24 township developments to date, the company is looking to add three more within this year. Numbers of residential projects, lifestyle malls, and office developments are continuously increasing to expand the company’s portfolio. Being chosen as the developer for JP Morgan Chase Bank’s built-to-suit global service center in the Philippines also goes to show how Megaworld Corporation is entrusted to produce quality projects.

Travellers International

Through Travellers International, AGI opened new doors of hotels in Metro Manila and other key provincial cities as they continue to align themselves with the continued growth in the tourism sector. Hilton and Sheraton Hotels now tower in Resorts World Manila and as announced by Dr. Andrew L. Tan, will soon be joined by Hotel Okura and Ritz Carlton. The plan is to open more hotel rooms and have 12,000 hotel room keys in three to five years.

Emperador Distillers, Inc.

AGI’s flagship brand, Emperador Brandy, maintains its market leadership nationwide despite the fierce competition among local brands. The Bar is ultimately the young crowd’s favorite in the local market while Whyte and Mackay maintains its growth driven by its single malt brands - The Dalmore and Jura. Given the diversity of its spirit brands, Emperador Brandy achieves to capture the patronage of “drink aficionados” around the world.

Golden Arches Corporation

Meanwhile, Golden Arches Corporation, master franchise holder of McDonald’s Philippines, already launched their NXTGEN stores which feature self ordering kiosks, credit card payment acceptance, and modernized payment boards to upgrade the service and dining experience of the customers. The year 2018 ended with 620 stores adding 1 store per week under its aggressive expansion program. They are also looking into improving their online delivery by adding 3rd party delivery services.

Infracorp Development Inc.

Lastly, the youngest among the AGI’s business interests is the Infracorp Development Inc. which has been granted original proponent status in both of its maiden projects. These are the Fort Bonifacio-Makati Skytrain that is expected to commence construction by January, and the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) that will help increase the airport’s capacity in accommodating passengers by 47 million in 2021 and about 65 million by 2023. Both projects are now being evaluated by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and are subject for swiss challenge. The consortium is expected to take over NAIA’s operations by October 2019.
